Eating Disorder Recovery in Santa Monica

When you find yourself or a loved one in the grip of an eating disorder, where do you turn? And what if you’re also suffering from depression or anxiety? For those in crisis or feeling overwhelmed, you can contact Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders. Rosewood Centers treats both adults and teens struggling with eating disorders and any co-occurring mental illnesses. Whether you’re disease takes the form of bulimia, anorexia, or binge-eating disorder, you will find the care and treatment you need to become healthy again.

Rosewood Centers has several different treatment options depending on the individual’s need. The extended day treatment program is 11 hours and is suited for people who don’t need full residential treatment, but need more than partial hospitalization. The partial day treatment program lasts (as the name suggests) for part of the day. Clients will receive lunch and snacks and individual and family therapy. The intensive outpatient program consists of treatment Monday through Friday in the day and evening, and includes group support, body image workshops, meal planning, and education and training. The final option is transitional living. Clients will reside in comfortable, beautiful homes and receive therapy, community support, recovery tools, and more.

Rosewood Centers believes that involving the loved ones of each client is important and necessary for the healing process. Rosewood will equip each family member with the knowledge, tools, and frame of mind necessary to help aid the client once they return home. Together, the family can work with understanding, compassion, and love, and promote healthy living. Family therapy will get to the heart of dynamic, communication issues, and dysfunction, and will teach families how to communicate with love and respect, ensuring a safer home environment for the client.

The nutrition program at Rosewood Centers is innovate and holistic. Dieticians focus on the practice of intuitive eating, which encourages clients to listen to and understand their own body’s wants, needs, and cues. If you’re hungry, eat. If you’re not, don’t. Though it sound overly simple, for someone struggling with an eating disorder, it’s a radical and difficult idea. Dieticians will work with clients to help them overcome their disordered mindset on eating, and promote healthy minds and bodies working together in tandem.

Rosewood Centers also offers experiential therapeutic modalities to treat each client. Psychiatrists, registered dieticians, and certified therapists will work with clients to develop personalized treatment programs which may include psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, body image groups, yoga, art and music therapy, bibliotherapy, equine therapy, and meal planning and nutritional education. The staff at Rosewood is first-class, from psychologists to nutrition experts to physicians, and will ensure lifelong recovery.

Families, friends, and clients can attend weekly support groups designed to educate and inform. People will be able to share their personal struggles, reach out to others going through the same issues, and feel more connected. Rosewood Centers strives to break the cycle of eating disorders and empower and change lives.
