Addiction Treatment Center in San Pedro

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro provides comprehensive health care with cutting-edge treatment and a compassionate environment. As a member of Providence Health & Services, Providence is a Catholic-sponsored ministry, and strives to provide a loving, caring atmosphere for patients and residents.

Providence’s Chemical Dependency rehabilitation program is designed to help people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. After more than 30 years of service, Providence is equipped to provide the highest quality of care and treatment options for those suffering from addictions and their significant others. They view chemical dependency and addiction as chronic diseases that alter a person’s mind, body, and behavior.

In partnership with their Bridges Psychiatric Services program, Providence provides dual diagnosis support for people suffering from mood disorders like anxiety and depression in addition to their substance abuse.

Providence offers inpatient, partial inpatient, and outpatient programs certified by The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits more than 20,000 health care programs across the nation.

The services at Providence include assessment, detoxification, day treatment, inpatient treatment, and various outpatient programs. Professional chemical dependency specialists will assess each client and devise an individualized treatment plan.

First, a professional will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment, which evaluates the client’s biological, psychological, and social well-being and determines the severity and damage of the chemical dependency. From there, a targeted treatment plan will be developed. Next, if necessary, the client will undergo a 24-hour medically supervised detoxification. This process may take between three and five days, depending on the individual’s needs.

Providence offers three kinds of programs catering to different needs: the Variable Length of Stay Program, the Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment Program, and the Intensive Outpatient Program.

As the name suggests, the Variable Length of Stay Program is a flexible program based on the individual’s needs. The length of stay may vary between a few days to a few weeks, and is determined by both medical and clinical need and arbitrated by the multidisciplinary team of professionals, made up of an addiction-credentialed physician and addiction treatment personnel. This program features medical, laboratory, and psychiatric services.

The Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment is a less intensive program, with structured daytime services and at-home living. Treatment occurs during normal working hours, and then the client goes home in the evening. They also attend recovery and self-help groups during non-treatment hours. This means that the client requires a support system and secure recovery environment at home.

The Intensive Outpatient Program features structured education and treatment during the day or evening. Designed to equip the client to function within the “real world,” this program is only for clinically appropriate patients.

When searching for an addiction treatment program, consider Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center and their Chemical Dependence rehabilitation program. With a wide range of comprehensive services available, Providence is well equipped to treat anyone struggling with addiction.
