Drug Rehab Center Fullerton

Woodglen Recovery Junction was founded in 1990 and has helped countless people reach recovery with a holistic, caring approach. Housed in the historic Porter Ranch House, which dates from 1887, Woodglen is well-known in detox centers and hospitals, spaces where individuals suffering from addiction first search for help.

Because of their deep understanding of the problem of addiction coupled with the right methods of treatment for the individual, Woodglen creates an uplifting, welcoming atmosphere for those who are in recovery. Many of the staff are former addicts, and provide residents both personal and professional expertise in addiction recovery.

Woodglen focuses on the hidden problems and issues that cause addiction and self-destructive behaviors, and above all, Woodglen cares for each person’s mind, body, and spirit, and works to ensure that all three of these aspects are balanced so that individuals can lead healthy lives. They believe that those who suffer with addiction have had their mind and spirit crushed; and as a result, Woodglen firmly believes they should treat these crushed people with tolerance, acceptance, and education.

Woodglen’s methods are a mix of traditional practices and practical knowledge; they’re influenced by professional guidelines, personal experience, and the tried and true Alcoholics Anonymous. They believe people can recover from the disease of addiction when treated with love, tolerance, and education.

While focused on a tolerant, education-filled approach, Woodglen is also concerned with making sure their program is effective—and that’s why Woodglen’s program is heavily based on Alcohol Anonymous’ time-proven program. Residents learn about the 12 steps in a 90-day, residential setting, and receive individualized treatment programs.

There are four stages in the treatment program at Woodglen:

  • Detox
    • Remove drugs and toxins from the body
    • 24-hour support
  • Main program
    • Daily education groups
    • Individual and group therapy
    • Individual evaluation of progress
  • Support
    • Residents prepare to resume daily life, and participate in every program activity while supporting new program residents
  • Re-entry Preparation
    • Supportive, recovery-oriented environment

In addition to the above schedule, a typical week at Woodglen involves AA meetings, book studies, meditation, and recreational and physical activities. Woodglen also offers vocational assistance and spiritual guidance.

The Woodglen clinical staff have years of experience in chemical dependency programs, and many have personal experience with drug and alcohol addictions. Because of this dual life and professional experience, the staff members provide a great example to residents, and are able to deeply empathize with residents.

Residents who complete the Woodglen program are often highly regarded within their local communities, and provide valuable service work. Many former residents return to Woodglen to volunteer their time to assist others in reaching recovery.
